In this digital age, survival and prepping information, from how to start a fire or how to preserve food is only a click away. From Youtube videos to products like the Survival Key, our electronic devices in many ways have replaced books and printed materials as our go to resource for information. The only draw back of these devices in a survival situation, chances are they won’t work.
If there is a massive blackout, your cell phone reception and your internet will could be out. In the case of an EMP, you might as well throw and electronic device away as it will be fried unless protected, and only be as useful as a paper weight. Or even if you battery just goes dead. We have become so dependent on these device as our main source of information that many of us no longer have our reference materials in print.
Because we are preppers we should have more than one source of information. This is why I have come up with the list of five PDF’s everyone should save and print. The great thing about these PDF’s is that free and relatively short so you don’t have to print out a ton of pages. Some of these are excerpts from much bigger manuals. That’s not to say you shouldn’t go out and purchase much bigger manuals, I have several, but it is a good place to start and build your non electronic portable database.
I have chosen the five PDF’s as starters based on five important areas of survival. Water, Shelter, Fire, Food and First Aid. There are many more than the five I have chosen and a lot more information out there. These are meant as quick resource in a survival situation and should be more than enough to get you by.
These are but a few of the great survival resources available online, and I know I have left out a few you might have. So if I have please let me know so we can share this life saving knowledge. Please share, print and save these great quick reference tools, because you never know when your smart phone or computer will be no more useful to you than a boat anchor.
